Thought it would be good for your blog too, so we can look back and remember when &#8220;Lima&#8221; made her appearance &#8211; hopefully, soon I will write about her grand exit \ud83d\ude42  as today she has grown, moved or something and I am in a LOT of pain:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Just a quick update on me &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>A couple weeks ago I learned I have a relatively large fibroid tumor in my uterus making it about the size of someone who is 16-weeks pregnant.  This \u201calien\u201d inside my belly is symptomatic \u2013 giving me a constant sense of pressure in my belly, on my diaphragm and on my bladder.  \ud83d\ude42 Fun, eh?  We call her \u201cLima\u201d in our family (short for the scientific term \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmedhealth\/PMH0001912\/\">leiomyoma<\/a>\u201d) &#8211; everyone talks to her \u2013 patting her and saying things like, \u201cGood morning April!  Good morning Lima!\u201d Or \u201cHi Mama! Hi Lima!\u201d  We were sitting in the front pew of  church the other week \u2013 right in front of the Gospel Choir I usually sing with, and we were asked to say things we were grateful for.  Maya lifted up my scarf, kissed my belly and said \u201cLima!\u201d  (She thinks Lima makes a good pillow).  I quickly looked around to see who was watching, afraid the rumor mill might start cranking.    Sure enough, \u201cNana Sherry\u201d had her suspicious-looking eye on that whole interaction.  Life\u2019s a trip!!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.littleraz.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/leiomyoma.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.littleraz.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/leiomyoma-300x284.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"leiomyoma\" width=\"300\" height=\"284\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-2347\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.littleraz.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/leiomyoma-300x284.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.littleraz.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/leiomyoma.jpg 550w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After discussions I\u2019ve had with my Drs and my Jim, I have decided to have a hysterectomy.  Other treatments lead to many more complications, and Jim and I weren\u2019t planning on having any more babies.   I learned this morning that my surgery is scheduled for April 4 with an expected recovery time of 4-6 weeks.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.littleraz.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/lima-cartoon.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.littleraz.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/lima-cartoon.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"lima cartoon\" width=\"249\" height=\"239\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2350\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nMaybe a Happier Picture of &#8220;Lima&#8221; \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>I have no sadness or fear&#8230; Only gratefulness.  I am very grateful for a very healthy body.  This is just a relatively normal hiccup in the trajectory of getting older.
