Though full of coughs and sniffles, after sleeping in yesterday, we had a sweet family excursion to our own local Genesee Country Village and Museum. We are certainly blessed!

Today Jimmiqua, you and I went to another Farm Market! We walked through the most amazing teepees, played in the pumpkins, petted some sheep, ate some concord grapes, and went on a haunted hayrack ride!! And, when we thought the fun was over…
Here is some info on the place – It really is FANTASTIC!! We’ll have to take friends and family when they come to visit! Thanks for being such a fantastic reason to get to know our community, Peanut! You are a blessing in so many, many ways! I love you.

Power Farm Market
Powers grows fresh produce and makes jams and jellies, all for sale at their farm store, where they also sell gifts and knick-knacks. For Halloween celebration and harvest’s end, they deck the store and fields with corn-husk [wikipedia]tipis and hundreds of creatively carved Jack-o-Lanterns.
Teepees Awake – The famous teepees on the front lawn of Powers are now open to the general public. Inside holds the ghosts of countless beings yearning to get out but are trapped inside! Bring your kids to see this haunting attraction. Alongside a field of pumpkins, it will surely be a time to remember. Enjoy!

We were walking around, enjoying our time, and LOOK WHO WE SAW!!!
What a WONDERFUL surprise!
Your Beach Room teacher, Missy and her husband and son!!
What a treat!
When you saw her, you RAN to her with BIIG outstretched arms and a HUUUGE smile!

So, we had our own little photo shoot:

What a wonderful day, huh?

Apple Farm
1640 State Route 444
Victor, NY 14564
(585) 924-3420Look forward to going every fall with family. Great, and I mean great prices on you pick apples. Excellent variety of apples. Tractor gives rides to/from orchards. Also have picked apples, apple cider, candies apples, and donuts available for purchase. Friendly and helpful staff. Five Stars! Plenty of parking. You can bring your own bags/containers or buy bags for a minimal price.
This was somebody’s enthusiastic review on the web – I think, we would agree – 5 stars! Can’t wait to go back!

You and I have not been so regular at making the playgroup meetings the past month or two. Life just gets too busy sometimes. It was really great to get to see so many people again, and get to know Cindy and Eli! We missed seeing Christine and Lucas… hopefully sometime soon.
Can’t wait for the next time!!

Auntie Judi and Uncle Jim moved into their new home!!
We got to have a picnic with them on their new floor before the furniture came!

Daddy went to pick you up after your nap on Saturday, and he found you on top of your changing table!!
The next day we bought sheets for your new full mattress that will be on the floor of your new room.
Saturday you met Curious George and Clifford, the big red dog at the WXXI open house!

We also touched turtles and snakes, made music and did crafts. Oh yes, we also ate doughnuts.

In the afternoon, Marlie and her Mom joined us for the Hilton Apple Festival. I was hoping for more apples and fewer craft booths, but we had a great time anyway!
We are fair food, played with balloons, sang songs and went down the slide.

The next day, Jimmiqua joined us for church. Then we all went to the West Irondequoit Fall Festival. It was great to get outside. We went on a hay ride, ate hot dogs, and made sand art. Jimmiqua volunteered to play an instrument / toy for the folk singer. She did a great job!

Today you and I walked to daycare together! You would walk away and pick up some sticks or look at flowers, and then come back and reach up to hold my hand.
We pointed out birds (“chirp chirp”)and trees and cars (“beep beep”) and dogs (“woof woof”) to each other as we walked. What a treasured time.

You can say apple and elbow, and Marlie, and all kinds of new words. Yesterday I had to teach my night class, and you and Daddy left me a message on my office phone. You said Hi! And Mama! And Mommy! I listened to it a couple of times and saved it so I can hear it anytime I miss you (which is ALL the time during the day!)
This is how we celebrated and welcomed the first day of fall this past weekend. I’m telling you, Peanut, EVERYTHING is more fun with you!!

Hey Beautiful –
No big happenings today, but boy did we have fun!!
After snuggling and reading and eating some breakfast, you and I went down the street to see Roz, Katie and Collin. Katie shared her cereal with you, and Collin played and snuggled and giggled with you. Here are some pictures from that time:

After that you and I took Jimmiqua shopping for some jeans for school. It was really fun to hang out with her… It has been far too long.
Then after lunch and a nap, you and I walked around the neighborhood a bit, and then ran some errands. We took our time in the store and played all along the way.

Where’s Miss Maya?

There she is!!

After we got back, we put up a “Secret Castle Sleep Tent” and played some more. Daddy moved the recliner up to your room so we can rock and sing when you go to sleep. Bedtime is such a special time with you!
You bring so much JOY to my life, Peanut Butter. I love you to pieces.

You’re perfect.
But we already knew that.
The sheet they gave us says, “Eighteen month olds are active and fast.”
We already knew that too.
We went for your 18 month appointment today, and you were, as Daddy said it, “Stellar.” Both the nurse practitioner, Leah, and your doctor, Dr. Shipley, raved about what an exceptional 18-month you are! They said that sometimes these appointments are tough because many kids have a hard time when a doctor moves into their personal space by checking out their eyes, ears, mouth and belly. But you sat calmly on my lap the whole time – intrigued by what they were doing. They kept commenting on how very secure you must feel… I almost cried.

Everything checked out great. Your weight, height and head measurements are all about the 50%.
Height – 32 inches
Weight – 23 lb 15 oz
Head – 18 and 1/4 inches
You are saying a number of words, but we need to keep working on that. We also need to work on getting your teeth brushed at least once a day. (Wish us luck – you don’t seem to want to have your teeth brushed. Hmmm… Should be an adventure.)
You are right on track or better for all other developmental cues. The most important thing they consider is responsiveness, and you are definitely understanding and responding to what we say to you. That’s fantastic!
After we got your shot (DPT), we went across the street and had a little blood drawn for a lead test. You were great for all of these things! We are so proud of you, Little One!

And we are so grateful that you are growing up strong and healthy and beautiful and loving and peaceful. What an incredible blessing!!
I love you!
